Traffic disruptions to begin Feb. 25
hinesville city seal.jpg

Beginning Monday, Feb. 25, city residents travelling on South Main Street between Glenn Bryant Road and Desert Storm Drive may experience temporary traffic delays.

Installation of a new storm drain along the side of South Main Street is anticipated to begin on Monday, and continue for approximately three weeks.

Installation of the new sidewalks is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 6 and will last approximately three weeks as well. These sidewalks, all of which will be ADA compliant and have an average width of 5 feet, will increase pedestrian access and safety within Liberty County. The anticipated completion date for all work is August of this year.

During this project, area residents should expect to see traffic control elements such as row clearing (removal of trees), site preparation and construction. These elements may result in slower travel times along these streets. The public will be kept up-to-date on the progress of construction as sections of the project are completed at cityofhinesville.org. Area residents are also encouraged to sign up for the Notify Me application on the City of Hinesville’s website (cityofhinesville.org) to receive news alerts regarding issues in Hinesville, including any future road closures for this project.
