Two injured in school bus accident
No children were in the bus

An early Monday morning accident involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle sent 2 people to the hospital.  According to Liberty County Fire Services Chief, Brian Darby, the accident happened at 8:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Bill Carter Road. 

There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.

Police arrived on scene to find an accident involving a Liberty County School Bus and a Kia Soul.  

According to Darby, the bus was found approximately 5 feet into the wood line.  

Darby said the driver of the Kia was conscious and alert but had to be extracted by members of the Liberty County Fire Services. The driver was flown by a medical evacuation helicopter to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.  The bus driver was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville where his condition was unknown.
