Two races on BoE
Qualifying ends Friday

While non-partisans will not be on the ballot July 15 during the primaries, anyone wanting to be included the November has only until noon today to qualify.
This year the non-partisan races in Liberty County include state court judge and districts 1, 2 and 3 of the board of education.
The qualifying fee is $1,560 for judge and $180 for a seat on the BoE.
Qualifying candidates as of 3 p.m. Thursday were:

Leon M. Braun Jr. (incumbent)
Board of Education

Verdell Jones
District 2
Charlie J. Frasier (incumbent)
Carolyn Smith Carter
District 3
Carol Guyett (incumbent)
Marcus Scott IV
General primary voting is July 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the same polling places as the presidential primary.
Absentee voting is also offered for those with a qualifying reason.  
Advanced voting will be available July 7-11 for anyone who wants to vote early.
