Westside Baptist invites the community to welcome pastor

Westside Baptist Church called Glis Cribb to be their pastor several months ago. Now that he and his wife Melinda have completed their transition to Hinesville, Westside invites the community to join them in formally welcoming them during their Homecoming service Sunday Oct. 28.

The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include special music. A covered dish meal will follow in the fellowship hall. 

Pastor Glis is originally from Florence, S.C.  He graduated from Fruitland Baptist Bible College in Hendersonville, N.C. in 1999. Glis has pastored Baptist churches in Alabama, North and South Carolinas, and Georgia duirng the past 22 years.

Glis served as an infantryman with the 101st Infantry Division, Fort Campbell, Ky., during Desert Storm. 

Melinda is the daughter of a retired First Sergeant who also served with the 101st in Desert Storm. Melinda was at Fort Stewart as a child and has fond memories of her childhood in Hinesville.  

Glis and Melinda have two adult children, a son, Glis Cribb II, who is in the Army at Fort Bragg, N.C., and a daughter, Bethany (Cribb) Carter, who recently married and is a licensed dental hygienist in Hinesville at Aspen Dental.

Glis and Melinda say they are excited to be at Westside and in the Hinesville community. They look forward to learning how God will use them along with the great folks at Westside to serve and impact the community.
