The Heritage Bank announced recently that Willa Dixon Lewis retired on December 31 after a 42-year career at the bank. Willa served as a Consumer Lender and First Vice President.
Lewis began her career at the bank in 1978 as a senior at Bradwell. She continued progressing at the bank while earning a BBA Finance degree at Georgia Southern. Willa ends her successful career on a high note having held many positions at the bank while working at the Fort Stewart, Midway, and Hinesville Offices.
Willa and her husband John are life-long residents of Liberty County and have raised their family here. Over the years, she has served the community in so many ways: Boy Scouts of America Troop/Pack 581 (Officer), Coastal GA Area CCA Advisory Board (Member), Keep Liberty Beautiful Board (Chair), Liberty County Chamber of Commerce Board (Member), Liberty County Cosmopolitan Club (Life Member), Liberty County Development Authority (Member), Liberty County NAACP (Life Member), Limerick Chapter O.E.S (Past Matron), St Peter’s AME (Church Member), Tri Country Protective Agency Board (Member), and Young Adult Liberty Leaders (Advisor).
“It’s hard to sum up what Willa has meant for the bank and this community. She’s worked tirelessly for her customers, the bank, and Liberty County. Her goal has always been to give her customer the best experience possible, and she succeeded. We loved working with her daily, and we’ll miss her,” commented Brian Smith, President of The Heritage Bank.
