Hinesville marketing interns Mallory Soto and Ellen Hunter, a part of the Summer Youth Enhancement Program, attended the filming of the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce’s public service announcement on the new Hands-Free Law.
The PSA, done in partnership with the Hinesville Police and Liberty County Sheriff’s departments, featured Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown and Liberty County Commissioner Donald Lovette.
The law, which goes into effect Sunday, prohibits the use of cell phones and other handheld while driving, as such distractions can lead to crashes, injuries and deaths. The crashes also can lead to loss of driving privileges, higher rates of car insurance and other legal issues.
“This was a wonderful learning experience for my marketing interns,” said city public relations manager Brittany Denney. “They were able to learn about production and collaboration in one, easy trip.”
