Youth leaders introduced to Liberty County's tourism

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce 2018-2019 Young Adult Liberty Leaders (YALL) class had their tourism session last Thursday, hosted by the Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau. 

The student leaders received an overview of Liberty County’s Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO Leah Poole. 

This month’s session included a tour of the ITPA National Museum and historic Dorchester Academy, as well as a lunch break at the Smokin’Pig. They completed this session with a walk at Cay Creek Wetlands Interpretive Center in Midway. 

Young Adult Liberty Leaders is an intense 9-month class, in which class participants meet at least once per month and learn about various functions of the community to include: County Government, City Government, Public Health, Public Education, Tourism and Economic Development.

Established in 1976, the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to support new and existing business, trade and industry within Liberty County, while increasing the cultural, civic, educational and overall quality of life of its citizens. 

The Chamber and its’ 500 members are committed to enhancing the local business climate and maintaining a high quality of life in the community.
