Editor, On Thursday morning, July 6, I rode in a funeral procession in Hinesville. On the trip from the Methodist Church to the cemetery I saw one of the most touching and heartwarming exhibitions of respect and Christian love that I’ve ever experienced. Every vehicle in the opposite traffic lane stopped or pulled off the road onto the shoulder while we passed, and many even turned their headlights on. At each, intersection the law-enforcement officer stationed there stood at rigid attention with either his/her hand or cap over his/her heart. Hinesville should be very proud of its citizens and especially proud of its law-enforcement personnel.
Thank God we still live in a Christian nation.
