The Dock family thanks community

Dear editor:

Words cannot begin to express the outpouring of love and support that we received from the Liberty County School System and the citizens of Liberty County and surrounding counties during the tragic accident that claimed the life our beloved “Spud.”

The family of Albert “Spud” Wilson Dock wishes to acknowledge with grateful appreciation the many acts of kindness, sympathy and love shown to us during our time of bereavement. From the moment of Spud’s death until his Home Going Celebration and beyond, you have been there for our family. The Liberty County School System, First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Family, Dorchester Funeral Home and those who contributed to the funeral home on behalf of the family, the Albert “Spud” Wilson Dock Memorial Choir and providers of music and sound, ushers from several churches, contributors to the Go Fund Me Page, newspaper and television media coverage and all who were there for our family during this heartbreaking experience provided so much comfort, love, and kindness to our family. We were and continue to be heart broken, but when you came to visit us our hearts were uplifted by your hugs and kind words. When you called, our ears heard the hurt that you felt for us. Our God provided us with blessings by surrounding us with special friends and special people who supported us during the tragedy surrounding Spud’s death.

God heard you praying for us and he answered your prayers. Spud’s basketball peers are an amazing group of young men and women that God placed among us. For everyone who touched Spud’s life, we are eternally grateful. Our family thanks you and we love each of you. Through it all, we have learned how to trust and depend on Jesus.

It is our sincere prayer that God blesses each and every one of you in a special way.

The loving family of

Albert “Spud” Wilson Dock
