Letter to the editor: Spread the news: Good Samaritans still exist
Letter to the Editor generic

Dear Editor,

On Wed. Nov 24, 2021, at 9am. I entered our local Hog & Bones Restaurant. I had invited ladies out for a brunch which included a workshop on vision. These gracious women, Dr. Brenda Shaw, Ms. Clara Wilson, and Miss Asia Walker, had planned a surprise birthday celebration for me without my knowledge.

I didn’t reserve the banquet room but when I entered to set up a table in the main area, Sheriff Will Bowman and staff, who were meeting in the banquet room, got up and insisted that we move into the banquet room and that they would move out into the main area where they all expressed celebratory words to us.

Immediately I thought how bad news always make headlines, so I was determined to share, with the community, this Act of Gratitude on how they demonstrated all lives matter. I contacted the Coastal Courier editor and reported to her what had happened to ensure the citizens of Liberty County that Good Samaritans still exist, and Jesus Christ laid down his life and is the ultimate epidemy of the greatest Samaritan that ever lived.

Now we can be one for someone else not only in this season of Thanksgiving but all year round.

Humbly submitted,

Dr. Nancy Tillman Franklin CEO, Dr. Nancy Tillman Franklin Foundation, Inc.
