Not paying taxes is a disgrace
Letter to editor

Editor: It is unfortunate that every Wednesday pages and pages of the Coastal Courier are taken up by Notices of Sale under Power and Delinquent Property Tax Sales.

According to the April 25, 2018, Courier there is one individual who owes over $162,000 for Property Taxes on a number of mobile homes, some of it going as far back as 2002, the majority is for tax years 2010 – 2017.   For all those years he has been getting away with not paying property taxes and has happily pocketed the rent money each month.  Liberty County Tax Commissioner:  Why was this allowed to happen? What about next year, will his 2018 property taxes also show up in the paper under the delinquent listings?

The same person is listed in the Wednesday June 13, 2018, Courier under Notices of Sales under Power owing millions of dollars for various properties  acquired under multiple names allegedly  with the intend to expand his rental business.

This is an utter disgrace. Why is this guy not in jail?
