Thanks for helping family in time of need

Editor, There are no words to express my sincere gratitude for the outpouring of love, care and concern after the loss of my daughter, Allyson Burrill, in June. My family was honored and humbled by the overwhelming level of support from the Hinesville community, Air Force Detachment 607, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and many others who provided prayers; words of comfort; served as pallbearers or honorary pallbearers; sent food, flowers or cards; provided personal services; shared their remembrances; or otherwise assisted our family during this time of sorrow.
Almost immediately, several of Allyson’s closest friends set up a fundraiser to ensure Allyson was laid to rest next to her twin sister, Danielle, who passed away in 2008.
They gave freely of their time and energy to the fundraising and supported my family at the same time. It is because of these special, caring and loving friends — along with those who generously contributed to the fund — that Allyson and Danielle will rest eternally next to each other. Allyson’s and Danielle’s lives were enriched by the presence of so many good friends — friends they left behind to help our family through this very difficult time.
Personally, I would like to thank Mamie Brooks for everything she did for us during this difficult time. From the smallest of things to the largest, she always was there for me. There is no way I can express my gratitude through words. Just know that I love you dearly!
Several donations in memory of Allyson and Danielle also have been made to the Liberty Humane Shelter, Central Ohio Pomeranian Rescue, Gum Branch Baptist Church’s youth group and First Baptist Church of Ludowici’s youth group. Plans for scholarships for a UNCP Air Force ROTC cadet and a Bradwell Institute student are under way.
While the loss of Allyson in June and Danielle, her twin, five years ago leaves an empty place in our hearts that will never be filled, our family finds healing in God’s love and embrace and in knowing others loved Allyson and Danielle and truly cared. Each of you had a special place in their hearts as well as mine. May God bless you all!
