The 5th Quarter Athletics 7th grade basketball team went 2-1 in pool play and 2-0 in bracket play winning the top trophy during a tournament held May 28-30 in Gainesville, Ga.
According to director Will Roberts head coach Timothy King’s team suffered only one loss and never looked back. In game one the team went u against Upward Stars North and lost 61-59 in overtime. In game two the boys bounced back beating the Northeast Georgia Kings. They followed that with a 69-18 victory against the Warriors Elite. In the semi-final game the boys beat All-In Warriors 49-45 and faced Upward Stars North in the championship game. 5th Quarter won 71-45.
With the championship trophy secured the boys traveled to Waycross this past weekend and won that tournament as well.
5th Quarter Athletics 7th grade team members are: Cam Martin, Zion Thomas, Chris Miller, Caden Lawrence, Aaron Brown, Josh Goins, John Stokes, Rashaud Woods, Sean Wallace, Raymond Woods, Travis Mack Jr., Antonio Haynes, Keon Grant, Elijah Brown, Chris Perry, and Zyi’Air Holt
Their next tournament is the National tournament in Winter Haven, Fla., July 5-8
