Scott’s All*Stars started the season Feb. 20 and, according to coach and founder Marcus Scott IV, the team has several returning players from the 16U team.

He said the first scrimmage was against a team that included former Liberty County High School star and newly signed Cleveland Cavalier Jordan McRae.

The boys also recently performed their monthly community service by attending and assisting with MegaGensis March 5-6 in Savannah.
Scott said MegaGensis is an annual college/career fair. The players also attended the boys basketball state championship game between Jenkins and Morgan County.

The 2016 season marks the All*Stars seventh year of providing basketball and life skills training to youth.
“Our players are required to maintain an (high) GPAs, receive no discipline referrals and perform monthly community service,” Scott said. “Most of our kids have been in the program since we started.”

This year, the All*Stars’ initiative is to give back to the community on a weekly basis along with their monthly community service.

The All*Stars have started to provide free tutoring to students in reading and math for grades K-5 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Parents interested in tutoring for their elementary age child can call Scott at 912-655-4371.
