Area Football in Review: Week 2
Long County football

The only football team in the Hinesville-Ludowici area to compete on the gridiron on Friday would be the Long County Blue Tide.

The Liberty County Panthers and Bradwell Institute Tigers would be inactive due to the Liberty County School System going virtual for classes and putting athletics on hold for two weeks.

The Blue Tide of Long County ended their 18-game losing streak as they sent the Bacon County Raiders back to Alma with a 44-29 loss.

This would serve as Mike Pfiester’s first victory as a head coach.

After going down 6-0, the Blue Tide would gain the lead and never looked back behind Ahmari Douglas and Dwayne Rowe combining for four of Long’s touchdowns.

The Blue Tide are now 1-1 on the season.
