Armchair Willie returns with SEC prognostications
Armchair Willie

At last, our long national nightmare is over!

No, Biden didn’t step down, college football and the SEC are back at it again and poised for another National championship run.

Alabama won it all last year, how many is that now? They may be the odd’s on choice to do it again, but several teams think they have a shot as well. Do I hear some Dawgs barking over in Athens?

They say LSU will be back after a down year and that Texas A&M is going to threaten Bama, but I hear that every year and you know what happens?

Let’s do the games!

BOWLING GREEN AT TENNESSEE:

Tennessee has a new coach and about 20 extra million bucks because they ran Jeremy Pruitt out of town. We’ll see how karma pays the Vols back, but it won’t be this week!

TENNESSEE 38, BOWLING GREEN 6

UL MONROE AT KENTUCKY:

Some folks think Kentucky might be a spoiler in the SEC East, and they could be right. If that’s the case then Kentucky won’t lose to UL Monroe.

KENTUCKY 30, UL MONROE 10

RICE AT ARKANSAS:

The Razorbacks showed some fight last year, but let’s be real, Rice will be cooked after about 20 minutes!

ARKANSAS 42, RICE 7

LOUISIANA TECH AT MISS. STATE: Mississippi State is in it’s second year with Mike Leach so the offense should be clicking better this season. Louisiana Tech has made some noise against big opponents over the years, but the Pirate will take care of them.

MISSISSIPPI ST. 48, LA TECH 20

CENTRAL MICHIGAN AT MISSOURI:

Missouri is also in its second year with their coach and showed some promise last year. Central Michigan is no pushover, so this might be closer than people think.

MISSOURI 28,

CENTRAL MICHIGAN 18

AKRON AT AUBURN:

The Zips are one of the worst college football programs ever and Auburn will get their first win for new coach Bryan Harsin. Let’s see if QB Bo Nix has gotten any better because if he hasn’t, even with a new offensive system, the new coaching staff won’t protect him like old Gus did!

AUBURN 42, AKRON 3

EASTERN ILLINOIS

AT SOUTH CAROLINA:

The Gamecocks better get this win, there aren’t a lot of wins on the schedule this year.

SOUTH CAROLINA 24,

EASTERN ILLINOIS 14

FAU AT FLORIDA:

The Gators will run the score up so people will think Spurrier is still coaching.

FLORIDA 60, FAU 12

KENT STATE AT TEXAS A&M:

The Aggies are going to be the challenger to Alabama in the SEC West. If that’s true, then they should roll without any problems.

TEXAS A&M 50, KENT STATE 3

EAST. TENN. STATE AT VANDERBILT: Who the #@$$##@ cares?

VANDERBILT 2, EAST. TENN. STATE 0

LSU AT UCLA:

UCLA beat Hawaii last week and have a game under their belts. LSU was a mess last year and if the season starts rocky for the Bengal Tigers things could get ugly quick.

UCLA 35, LSU 28

ALABAMA VS. MIAMI:

This looks good on paper and the Hurricanes have some players, but Alabama should continue rolling and Nick Saban almost never loses a big opener. The Tide may be looking to repeat this year.

ALABAMA 42, MIAMI 17

GAME OF THE WEEK

GEORGIA AT CLEMSON:

Georgia thinks they have their quarterback in JT Daniels and they think this is the year for that national championship to happen. 1980 is a long time ago and the Dawgs have been knocking on the door for several years. If they win this game, they might be ready to kick the door in! Clemson has a new quarterback and if Georgia can make some things happen, they can win. Say goodbye Dabbo!

GEORGIA 30, CLEMSON 20
