Each team in Friday’s Bradwell Institute-Richmond Hill football game had a back put up stellar numbers.
Bradwell’s Luther Echols rushed for 111 of the Tigers’ 174 ground yards in its 28-7 Region 3-AAAAA loss at Olvey Field. For those efforts, Tiger head coach Greg Hill awarded Echols the overall player of the game.
Meanwhile, Richmond Hill’s Ronnie Harris rushed for 202 yards on 18 carries and produced three of the Wildcats’ four touchdowns.
Wildcat quarterback Xavier Bryant-Long was responsible for the other Wildcat touchdown. He was 4 for 5 for 36 passing yards and rushed for 72 yards. RHHS sophomore Elisha Polite had 85 yards on five carries for the night.
The Wildcats, who pounded out 362 yards

on the ground, named Harris their top overall player, but also awarded the offensive nod to Polite and the defensive award to Kywann Green.
The Tigers defense stuffed the Wildcats passing game. Offensively, though, they still haven’t found the passing rhythm. It was Bradwell’s third game with no completions or passing yards.
Dangelo Smith scored BI’s lone touchdown.
Green led the Wildcats’ defense with nine tackles. Isiah Barnes led the Bradwell team with five.
Bradwell, 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the region, has a bye-week Friday. The Tigers return to action Sept. 26 at region powerhouse Ware County.
The Wildcats, 2-0 overall and 1-0 in region play, host Ware County on Friday.
