Tammy Ballance walked away with low medalist honors this past Saturday in the biggest field of the year for the Jake Blitz held at Cherokee Rose Country Club.

Ballance shot an even par 71 to win while Dwayne Rye captured Wednesday’s blitz with a 73. Sunday’s round was rained out.

Points winners for the week were Art Mathabel +8 and Ballance again with +10.

Cherokee Rose also holds a four-person scramble every Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Players are invited to show up by 12:30 and will be paired with other participants for the 18-hole scramble.

The Cherokee Rose Country Club Jake Blitz is held every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.  Sign up times end at 8:30 am on Wednesday and Saturday with start time at 9:00 am. Sign up time ends at 12:30 pm on Sunday with start at 1:00 pm. Golfers are paired into groups and are on a points system. Course members and the public are invited to play.
