SAVANNAH — The Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire is teaming up with the Savannah Bananas to host Red, White and Blue Night at Grayson Stadium on July 23.
The club developed the campaign, saying the colors represent the three services the nonprofit supports — fire, EMS and law enforcement. The club provides financial assistance, including a fully paid college education for the family, when a family loses a loved one in the line of duty.
The day of baseball will begin with a game between Coastal Empire first responders at 4:30 p.m. prior to the Bananas game at 7. There will be games and other activities. The first pitch will be thrown by a club family member.
A Two Hundred Club memorial of fallen first responders as well as first responder equipment will be on display. Fireworks will end of the evening.
Tickets are $15 per person and include game admission, unlimited chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, dessert, water and soda.
The Bananas will host a series of fundraisers this summer to support local nonprofits. The Red, White and Blue Night is to raise awareness of the charity and funds from a 50/50 raffle and from a percentage of ticket sales. Tickets must be purchased through the Two Hundred Club. For tickets call Karen Sawers at 912-721-4418 or go to twohund redclub.org/red-white-blue-baseball-evening.
“We are thrilled to be selected by the Savannah Bananas as one of their chosen charities for their first season,” club President Mark Dana said. “Not only will the funds raised assist us in our work to help those who protect us, but it also promises to be great fun for the families of first responders who are participating.”
Bananas President Jared Orton saod, “We are incredibly excited to host a night here at Historic Grayson Stadium in conjunction with the Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire. This will be a wonderful Red, White and Blue Night for all the first responders and their families.”
