BI still seeking first win

Bradwell Institute is ready to record a win after a sluggish 0-6 start to its softball season.

The Lady Tigers’ weekend trip to the Tattnall County Warriors Blast in Glennville put them up against tough teams. In their first game Friday afternoon, the Lady Tigers lost 11-2 to New Hampstead, according to recorded stats and scores on Game Changer.

In the second game Friday, Vidalia shut down the Lady Tigers 18-0. Emanuel County Institute beat the Lady Tigers 18-2 in BI’s third game. On Saturday morning, Bryan County held Bradwell in check, winning 12-0.

In its final game of the tournament, BI lost 9-3 to Toombs County.

To date, Briana Tootle leads the Lady Tigers in hits with six in 13 plate appearances. She has three runs batted in, a double and five singles.
Lady Tiger Mackenzie Stewart has pitched 12 innings to date with seven strikeouts, 20 walks and 26 hits.

Madison Winn has pitched 10 innings with six strikeouts, 20 hits and seven walks. Josephine Satele had pitched 1 innings.

Bradwell was scheduled to host McIntosh County Academy on Monday, but rain caused the game’s cancellation.

The Lady Tigers start Region 3-AAAAA play Thursday by hosting Effingham County at 5 p.m.
