Long County’s baseball team broke a four-game losing streak Monday, beating the New Hampstead Phoenix 15-2 in Pooler.
The Blue Tide claimed the win in five innings.
Long County jumped into the lead in the first inning off an RBI single by Matt Strickland, a three-run triple by Tripp Stapleton and a one-run double by Jeffery Edmondson.
In the second inning, Krew Jones had a two-run single. The Blue Tide added a run in the fourth inning and then racked up seven runs in the fifth to close the game early.
Ryan Desbiens went 2 for 2 with 3 RBIS, Stapleton was 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs, Colton Infinger was 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs, Jones was 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs and Edmondson was 1 for-3 with an RBI in the win.
Strickland pitched the win, tossing six strikeouts, walking one and giving up three hits.
