Second half surge gives Berrien 41-21 victory

Long County High School, the only local High School participating in football this season, welcomed Berrien County High Friday night to Veterans Stadium. 

The Blue Tide put up a hard fight but lost 41-21.

According to the scoreboard posted on Maxpreps.com, it was the Blue Tide that scored first. After a scoreless first quarter the Blue Tide scored a touchdown with eight minutes to go before halftime. A minute later the Blue Tide crossed the line again taking a 14-0 lead.

With just two minutes before halftime Blue Tide QB Quitin Golden had a pass completed for another touchdown taking a 21-0 lead.

But the second half proved to be all Berrien County as the Rebels put up 21 points in the third quarter to tie the game. The Rebels took the win by adding 20 points in the final quarter of action before a limited seating, viewing crowd.

This Friday the Blue Tide will travel to play at Bacon County. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
