Blue Tide football team honors its seniors

The Long County High School Blue Tide football team celebrated Senior Night on Friday prior to the Pierce County football game.
The following players, cheerleaders, video crewmembers and the team manager were recognized:
• Number 65 offensive guard Devin Durham played four years on the Blue Tide football team, and plans on going to college and continuing to play football after graduation.
• Number 27 defensive end Justin Hall and number 11 wide receiver Chris Hill both played four years on the football team, and they both plan on going to college and becoming physical therapists.
• Number 6 wide receiver Paul Lewandowski played both football and baseball throughout high school, and plans on going to college after graduation.
• Number 4 defensive back DeAndre McCall played football, along with golf and basketball. He plans on going to college to become a physical therapist.
• Number 9 running back Prince Moody plays football, basketball, baseball and runs track. He says his future plans are to do whatever God has planned for him.
• Number 29 defensive corner back Xavier Ja’Quan Sims played football and also runs track. He plans to attend college and work on his talent of drawing.
• Number 28 inside linebacker Stetson Strickland has played both football and baseball for all four years in high school. He plans to go to college and then become a teacher.
• Number 86 defensive end Bon Tria has played football for four years, and plans to go to Georgia Southern University and pursue a career in healthcare.
• Number 64 offensive left tackle Robert Williams played football all four years in high school and plans to get a degree in underwater welding.
• Team Manager Gary Nakles has been a manager for both the football team and the basketball team. He also is an athlete in the Special Olympics, and is the “heart and soul” of the Blue Tide.
• Brooke Manning is a cheerleader for the football and basketball teams, and plans to attend Valdosta State University and then become a nurse practitioner.
• LaConya Cobb has been a cheerleader all four years of high school for the football and basketball teams. She also is a volunteer for the Special Olympics.
• Sydney Gosseck is a cheerleader for the football and basketball teams, and plans to attend Armstrong Atlantic State University to study pre-med and become an anesthesiologist.
• Stephanie Middleton has been a cheerleader for the football team, and also a diamond girl for the baseball team. She also plans to attend AASU to study psychology.
• Tesa Marie Strickland has been a football and basketball cheerleader, and after graduation plans to attend Georgia College and State University to major in psychology, and minor in photography and coaching.
• Heather Sullivan has been a member of the band for six years. After graduation she plans on attending Stanford University.
• Kevin Oglesby is a member of the football team’s video crew. He plans on attending college and furthering his education.
• Billy Morgan Jr. is also a member of the video crew, and after he graduates he plans on attending college and becoming a teacher.
