The Long County Blue Tide girls basketball team got their winning ways back Tuesday by easily defeating the Charlton County girls basketball team by a score of 51-19, in Folkston.
The Long County ladies were too much for the Indians and the one-sided contest was just what the Lady Tide needed to get back on victory lane after losing two games in a row, after being on a six game winning streak.
In the game, the Blue Tide had two girls score in double digits. Sophomore Brittany Mills had 5 steals, 5 assists, and 10 points while Senior Gentara Holmes led all scorers with 9 rebounds and 28 points.
Last Friday in Ludowici, the Blue Tide girls had a tough loss to the Pierce County Bears 52-60, in front of the home crowd.
In the loss, Holmes once again led all Blue Tide shooters with 14 points, while Angela Ashley, Reesey Berrie, Caela LaRochester, and Brittany Mills each had 8.
The Long County ladies have a .500 record in both the 2-AA Region at 6-6, and in their overall season mark at 9-9.
The Lady Blue Tide takes on the Brunswick Pirates tonight in Brunswick.  Game time is 6 p.m.
