Bowling tourney to fight diabetes

Fort Stewart’s United States Bowling Congress Bowling Association will host a fundraiser for the Team Liberty County 2015 Kiss-A-Pig Campaign benefitting the American Diabetes Association.
For the second year in a row, Team Liberty is the Liberty County School System.
According to tournament director Nelson Tellames, the Fort Stewart USBC is bringing back their Strike for a Cure Bowling Tournament, which will be 1-3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Marnes Lanes, 02 Steel Road, Fort Stewart.
The cost is $45.00 per team (3-person teams) and is open to everyone, including youth. The rules include:
• Three person teams. Any combination of genders
• Team will bowl three games of 9-pin no tap. (nine on the first throw will count as a strike)
• Bowler 1 will bowl frames 1, 4 and 7, Bowler 2 will bowl frames 2, 5, and 8, Bowler 3 will bowl frames 3, 6 and 9
• Team can choose who bowls 10th frame for each game
There will also be raffle of items donated by local businesses, including a new bowling ball.
