The Hinesville Hurricanes got an unexpected bye-week as the Savannah Seaport Sharks forfeited Saturday night’s game.
According to head coach James Sharp, the Seaport Sharks, for various reasons, were forced to forfeit the entire season this year.
Giving the Hurricanes an extra week to recuperate injured players and perfect the offense with a new quarterback, may provide them with the strategy they will need to get their first true win.
The Hurricanes will meet their next opponent at a new home field on Fort Stewart. The ’Canes are prepping to play the South Georgia Stars at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Youth Services football stadium. Admission is $6. Children 12 and younger get in free. Everyone attending will need to present his or her ID at the entrance of Fort Stewart.v
