Chemtall wins LCRD junior league

The Chemtall team defeated the Vietnam Veterans of America team in a championship double-header on June 5, taking the LCRD junior baseball title.

Chemtall won 5-3 in game one and 10-9 in game two. The Vietnam Veterans of America earned the second-place trophy.

June 1 playoffs

• GEM Lawn Service 7, Heritage Bank 9

Gregory Roman, Clark Albertson, Jamie Perez and J. J. Holton led in hits for GEM. Nick D’Ostophe and Jerome Grant led for Heritage Bank.

 

• Jones Osteen and Jones 2, Vietnam Veterans 17

Caleb Bell led in hits for JOJ. VVA hitters were Davon Robinson, Matthew Brown, Austin Middleton and Bradley Larimore.

 

June 2

• The Heritage Bank 6, Chemtall 7

Hagen Goode, Nathan Allen and Jerome Grant got hits for The Heritage Bank. J. C. Blitch, Cedric Smith and Adam Corwin had hits for Chemtall.

 

• GEM Lawn 13, JOJ 14

Slugging away for GEM Lawn were DeShawn Jackson, J.J. Holton, Morgan Crean and Jamie Perez. Getting hits for JOJ were Chris Nunn, Caleb Bell, Joseph Zettler and Ricky Gilliard.

 

June 4

• VVA 6, Chemtall 3

Davon Robinson, DaBrent Nobles, Curtis Michalowicz and Matthew Brown all had hits for VVA. Chemtall’s hitters were Adam Corwin, Clayton Winters and Trenton Wilson.

 

• The Heritage Bank 7, JOJ 8

JOJ hitters were Rickey Gilliard, Michael Lovelady, Chris Nunn and Ronald Woods. Hagan Goode and Nathaniel Allen had hits for The Heritage Bank.

 

June 5

• JOJ 8, Chemtall 9

Caleb Bell, Rickey Gilliard, Brandon Bell and Joseph Zettler led in hits for JOJ. Adam Corwin, Darnell Dorcely, Kyle Hagler and Cedric Smith led for Chemtall.

 

Championship game one

• Chemtall 5, VVA 3

DaBrent Nobles and Austin Middleton led the VVA in hits. Curtis Michalowicz pitched for VVA. Cedric Wilson pitched all 6 innings for Chemtall and Tristsan Goodro, Kyle Hagler, Adam Corwin and Aaron Jacdos all had hits.

 

Championship game two

• Chemtall 10, VVA 9

In a tight battle, Da Brent Nobles, Curtis Michalowicz and Austin Middleton pitched for VVA. The hits came from Michalowicz, Quashon Russell, Middleton and Bradley Larimore. Cedric Wilson and Clayton Winters pitched for Chemtall and Kyle Hagler and Adam Corwin both had hits.
