The Georgia Southern football team begins its preseason practice at 8:15 a.m. Thursday at the Eagle Creek Practice Complex in Statesboro, according to gseagles.com.
The Eagles will practice at 8:15 a.m. daily, weather permitting, through Monday before beginning two-a-day practices, at 8:15 a.m. and 7:45 p.m., Tuesday.
Practices are open to the public, but filming, recording or photography are allowed only to media members according to the website.
The first scrimmage will be Aug. 9 at Paulson Stadium.

Women’s tennis coach steps down
STATESBORO — Georgia Southern women’s tennis coach Amy Bonner has stepped down from that role, citing personal reasons.
Bonner has served as the head women’s tennis coach since 2004. The 2013-14 season marked her 10th at the head of the Eagles’ program. GSU was 95-105 in dual-match play and 41-63 in the Southern Conference under Bonner. She played for GSU from 2000-03.
