Ex Highlanders named to All-Academic Team

Former First Presbyterian Christian Academy soccer players Rickey Gilliard, Tyler Causer and Clark Sukaratana were named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference All-Academic Team last week, according to a press release posted on Point University’s athletic website.

All three are current sophomore soccer players for the Skyhawks.

According to the press release, AAC All-Academic honors are given to students-athletes who excel in the classroom. Nominees must have completed two terms and earned at least 24 semester hours of college work, have attained a grade point average of 3.25 or higher based on all courses and participate in a sport during the semester the nomination was made.

Causer has 25 career games to date with one assist good for a point scored. Gilliard has played in 19 games so far with two point scored off two assists. Sukaratana has 23 games under his belt with one goal and two assists for four points.
The Skyhawks finished the season 5-11 overall and 2-7 in the AAC.
