Faith Baptist Christian Academy added two more notches to the win column, earning a championship at the Faith Baptist Christian Tournament held at Central Florida Baptist School Dec. 19-22.
After winning their first two games last Saturday, the Crusaders defeated Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate 88-57 and faced Faith Baptist of Tampa in the championship game, winning 72-65 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
Crusaders Jaquez Motley and JJ Frazier were selected to the All-Tournament Team and Tracy Jester was named the tournament MVP.
According to Maxpreps.com, Jester is averaging 19 points per game and Motley is averaging 18.7. Aaron Power is averaging 11.5 per game to lead the Crusaders scorers.
Power is 44 of 96 at the three-point mark and Jester is 20 of 51.
Motley, the Crusaders 5’11 – 152 pound point guard, is ranked on Rival.com as 136th in the nation and is being looked at by Division I schools like the University of Georgia.
The boys take a break and will resume action in Savannah on Jan. 5, when they play Bible Baptist. On Jan. 8, they will re-match the First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlanders in Ludowici at 8 p.m.
