First Presbyterian Christian Academy’s varsity boys basketball team remains undefeated, but don’t forget about the program’s junior varsity squad.
David Linderman’s team improved to 4-2 on Tuesday with a 61-51 victory against Midway Middle School at the St. James Sports Center.
Linderman said good defense and Mike Farrior’s game-high 25 points led his team to the win. Farrior’s points included a momentum-turning layup with 5.3 seconds remaining in the first half.
Jammal Anderson added 15 points for FPCA, while Xavier Jackson scored 10 and Stephen Robinson had nine.
For Midway Middle, Alton Sapp scored 19.
The Highlanders started play Thursday in the Sam Harris Tournament.
Also on Tuesday, the FPCA girls JV team fell 28-27 to Midway Middle.
Alexandra Parker led a balanced Midway team with eight points.
Briana Reece and Leitia Leiataua paced FPCA with 15 and 10 points, respectively.
