Former Long County High School baseball standout Trystan Goodro is continuing to excel at the collegiate level.

Goodro is currently playing in the Beach Collegiate Baseball Summer League as member of the Garden City Jackets (9-5), which are located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On June 12, despite his team falling to the Waccamaw Waves 6-4, Goodro had one of his best outings of the year, going 2 for 3 at the plate. In the top of the first inning, the Long County native hit a single to drive in one run, and hit a home run in the third inning.

Two days later, in a rematch, Goodro came up big again. In the bottom of the third, Goodro slammed another homer for the game’s first score. The Jackets ended up winning 9-0.

According to the team’s Web page, through 11 games, Goodro has been to the plate 32 times and made 15 hits with seven RBIs and three home runs. He leads team with a .469 batting average, .812 slugging percentage and a 1.34 on-base-plus-slugging percentage.
Goodro graduated from LCHS in 2014 after being a member of the Blue Tide for four years. That same year, he received a baseball scholarship from Middle Georgia State College, where he has played the last two seasons.
