Former Panther earns Mid-South accolades

Former Liberty County High School basketball and track athlete Courtney Rhodes earned her first MSC athlete of the week for the week of April 21, according to a press release from the University of the Cumberlands.
She also earned All-MSC Academic honors award. Those awards are given to students who maintain a grade point average between 3.25 and 4.0.
According to the release, Rhodes recorded a pair of top-10 finishes during the Centre Twilight meet. During that meet Rhodes, a junior, finished seventh in the shot put (11.99 meters) and eighth in the hammer throw (40.16 meters). Rhodes helped her team earn an 11th place finish overall.
The Patriot women’s track team went on to win the MSC title a week later. Rhodes finished third in the shot put (11.65m), second in the discus throw (37.83m) and fourth in the hammer throw (35.26m).
