On Wednesday, the FPCA Highlanders took another step towards their goal of being back to back state champions.  FPCA defeated Lagrange Academy in the first round of the GISA state playoffs.  With this 86-42 blowout, the Highlanders move on to the Elite 8.

George Mitchell and Isaiah Scott led the scoring with 25 points each.  Other scores were Trayvon Harris 13, Simon Steele 9, Khalyn Weekley 6, John Killough 4, Sensier Carnes 2, and Brandon Attical 2.  With a little more than a minute left in the game, Coach Shane Smith cleared his bench and put in two JV team standouts, Palmer Whitney and Alfred Martin.  With the crowd roaring, the two dazzled with their ball handling and provided a glimpse of the future of the FPCA program.

Next up, the Highlanders will face Crisp Academy in the Elite 8 Saturday. The match up will take place in Mount Vernon at Brewton Parker College. Game time is at 7 p.m.
