First Presbyterian Christian Academy host the Crisp Academy Wildcats at 7:30 tonight at Long Bell Stadium in Hinesville.
FPCA enters the non-region contest with an 0-4 overall record. The Wildcats have suffered losses as well and come into the game at 1-5 overall.
The Wildcats have dominated FPCA in the past two outings, winning a combined 106-28. But the Wildcats lost several of last year’s starters to graduation and are rebuilding.
FPCA coach Terry Middleton said the coaching staff has worked to develop the offensive and defensive lines.
“They need to be more aggressive,” he said.
Middleton said that all 17 of his players are relatively healthy. Three Highlanders missed some recent practice time to heal some bumps and bruises, but otherwise the team is ready for tonight’s challenge.
Last week against Pinewood, FPCA quarterback Dylan Stewart connected with Michael Burnett on two touchdown passes. Also, Jimmy Ouyang had several big runs and could have a big night against the Wildcats.
Austin Hendrix led the Highlanders in tackles last week, while Jamison Golson, Nasmeek Murphy, Joshua Armour and Jordan Gilliard all made big plays. Armour and Bolden Crane made two touchdown-saving tackles last week. Kicker Ausar Gibbs helped pin Pinewood deep in its own territory throughout the game.
