FPCA swings first, second place finishes

The Highlanders golf team took first place Monday at Hinesville’s Cherokee Rose Country Club and finished second March 26 and March 19 at Beaver Creek Golf Club in Douglas and Sanctuary Cove in Brunswick respectively.
First-year golf coach Rob Whitney said his squad finished with a score of 186 Monday with Citizens Christian scoring a 192, Georgia Christian hitting 196 and Bethesda scoring a 219. Heritage Christian was last with a 223.
Bethesda’s Yale Cottrell was the low medalist, shooting a 39.
Highlanders Brandon Stafford, Sunny Patel, Anthony Gallob, Garrett Crissman and Logan McCorkle played in the match.
The Highlander golf team was scheduled to play in Douglas yesterday, weather permitting. The Courier will bring you the results of the matches as they become available.
