The 13th annual Henry "Hank" White Memorial Golf tournament has been set for Aug. 5 at Taylors Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart.

In announcing the date, the committee that runs the scholarship fund by the same name announced fees are $60 per person or $240 per team and includes greens fees, cart and lunch.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams. There is also a chance to win a new car from Hinesville Ford for a hole-in-one at hole 2 or a new Toyota for a hole-in-one at hole 11.

Each year, the committee awards several scholarships in honor of the late Deacon Henry "Hank" White, a former educator and civic leader, whose accomplishments include being state chaplain for the VFW. More than $75,000 in scholarships have been awarded since 2005.

Graduating seniors from Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School are eligible to apply. Graduates of other schools in the county and undergraduate students may apply for community scholarships.

The Henry "Hank" White Memorial Scholarship is a nonprofit that receives funds from churches, businesses, private donors, and proceeds from the golf tournament.
