GSU men ranked third in preseason poll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Southern Conference Sports Media Association has voted the Georgia Southern men’s basketball team third in the South Division, it was announced by the league Wednesday.
GSU senior Louis Graham was selected to the Preseason All-SoCon team. The West Palm Beach, Fla. native is the school’s all-time leader in blocks and is the team’s top returning scorer (14.5 ppg) and rebounder (8.2 rpg).
Defending league champion Davidson (132 pts) earned all 22 first place votes in the South Division. The College of Charleston (106) was second, followed by Georgia Southern (86), Wofford (68), Furman (46) and The Citadel (24). UNC Greensboro’s 12 first-place votes (122) helped edge out Appalachian State’s (120) 10 first-place nods in the North. Western Carolina (80) was third, Chattanooga (68) fourth and Elon (44) fifth.
UNCG’s Kyle Hines was named the conference’s preseason Player of the Year.
