GSU football season-ticket renewal deadline approaching

STATESBORO — The Georgia Southern football season-ticket renewal deadline for the 2015 season is April 14.Account balances must be paid in full no later than June 30 in order to receive benefits, tickets and parking. 

All season tickets and parking spots that have not been renewed will be released after the April 14 deadline.

Meeting for walk-ons Feb. 11

STATESBORO — A mandatory information meeting for Georgia Southern students interested in walking on to the Eagle football team is set for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Ted Smith Family Football Center, 205 Lanier Drive in Statesboro.

Tryouts will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. Candidates must be GSU students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for spring 2015.

Documents required at the information meeting for each student include:

• Copy of student's spring 2015 class schedule verifying full-time enrollment

• A copy of a physical exam conducted within six months of Feb. 18 tryout date

• Copy of the front and back of a medical-insurance card

• Signed originals of the required sports medicine forms available at tinyurl.com/GSFBtryoutsF2014 

Candidates who do not present the required documents at the Feb. 11 meeting will not be permitted to try out at this time.

Eagles baseball tickets for sale

STATESBORO — Single-game tickets for the 2015 Georgia Southern baseball season are on sale for all 31 home games at J.I. Clements Stadium. 

The home schedule features early non-conference weekend series against Bethune-Cookman, West Virginia and Georgia and a single game against Georgia Tech on Feb. 15. Altogether, the Eagles will play 14 games against six opponents who competed in the NCAA Tournament last year.

Adult single-game tickets prices are $8 apiece in advance and $10 at the stadium. Premium games (UGA and GT) are $12 per ticket in advance and $15 each at the gate. All seats for the 2015 season are reserved tickets. 

Youth tickets are available for at the gate and are for ages 4-12 for $5 per ticket for regular games and $10 for premium games.  

Free kids baseball camp Saturday at GSU

STATESBORO  — The Georgia Southern baseball team will hold a free Little Eagles Clinic for kids ages 6-12 from 3-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at J.I. Clements Stadium.

The Eagle baseball team will host an open scrimmage beginning at 11:30 a.m., and check-in for the clinic begins at 2 p.m. 

Kids attending the clinic will have the opportunity to meet head baseball coach Rodney Hennon, the coaching staff and players; learn baseball skills; and attend an autograph session following the clinic.

Information on baseball tickets and the Junior Eagle Club will be available.  Clinic attendees can register online at www.gseagles.com.
