With only 15 players on the roster, First Presbyterian Christian Academy will once again be playing "ironman" football this season.

The Highlanders also are in rebuilding mode, with only one senior on the roster, several juniors and sophomores, and seven freshmen.

FPCA competes in the Georgia Class AA

The Highlanders are coached by William Roberts, and assisted by Isaiah Momtfort, Timothy King, Victor Dorth, and Albert Hawkins. Roberts is a former coach with the Liberty County schools. He said he is focused on building the Highlanders and recently started a middle school feeder program.

One of his prioritiesr is to increase community interest for FPCA football and garner school interest in the local football community.

Early results: The Highlanders lost 38-0 to Bethlehem Temple last Friday and opened the season with a 59-6 loss to Westwood.

The Highlanders face Hilton Head Christian at 7:30 p.m. Friday at HHC.
