The South Georgia Kings had a good showing recently at the King of the South Tournament at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn.
Elite AAU teams from across the Southeast competed to be the king of the court and to possibly catch the eye of the several recruiters attending.
The 16-under team defeated Nashville in the quarterfinals, but lost to the  Birmingham Storm, who boast rivals.com’s No. 1 sophomore in the nation, Demarcus Cousins.
Joshua Shelton, Rashawn Mitchell and Tony Dixon from the Kings were named to the all-tournament team.
The 15-under team advanced to the quarterfinals, but lost to the Worldwide Renegades of Atlanta.
Tracey Jester and Daniel Coursey from the Kings were named to the all-tournament team.
The South Georgia Kings participate in the Wallace Prather Memorial Classic in Atlanta, May 11-13. The 17-under team looks to get on track after missing players for the previous tournament. The 16-under team is looking forward to a possible rematch with Cousins and the Birmingham Storm.
