The Long County Lady Blue Tide softball team is currently 3-4 overall and 1-2 in Region play according to Softball Coach Dave Madray.
The coach said it’s been a whirlwind season as the pandemic has caused a few schools to cancel play and recent downpours have caused a few rainouts.
The ability to adapt during the 2020 predicament allowed Madray to create what he calls a fluid schedule.
“A fluid working draft schedule that gets edited often,” he said.
On Aug. 10, the Lady Tide beat Emanuel County Institute 11-7. They followed that with a 5-4 loss in a ten inning game on Aug. 19. The following day they beat Brantley County 3-0. On Aug. 22, the Lady Tide played back-to-back games losing 10-1 to Jeff Davis but defeating Statesboro 10-3. Last Tuesday they beat Savannah Christian 14-2 but lost 6-0 against Tattnall County last Thursday.
This week they were expected to play at Metter Monday and will host Appling County and Pierce County on Tuesday and tomorrow respectively.
