Two Panthers sign to play in college

Liberty County High School’s Lady Panther softball team is currently 3-2 overall for the season. The Lady Panthers started with a 7-6 loss against their cross-town rivals, Bradwell Institute on Aug. 7. 

On Aug. 10, the girls bounced back taking an 11-5 win while hosting Bryan County. The following day the Lady Panthers had a double-header where they lost 13-5 to Vidalia. But the Panthers followed that performance with a 10-3 win over Jenkins High. This past Tuesday the Lady Panthers played at Portal and won 11-6.

Ryann Alexander is 6-of-12 with 6 RBIs to date. Alexis Barnes is 5-of-10 with 3 RBIs. Candice Blitch is 5-of-11 with 2RBIs.

To date the Liberty girls have 32 hits.

Freshman pitcher Kimberly Colon has 2 wins and 2 losses. She has 11 strikeouts in 19.2 innings pitched to date.

The Lady Panthers are set to play at 5 p.m. today in Darien at McIntosh County Academy, weather permitting.
