After trekking twice to Tattnall County the Lady Panthers hosted the Lady Battle Creek Warriors on Tuesday afternoon during a light rain. LCHS lost to the visiting team, 3-5.
Tattnall took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and were up 4-0 by the third before the Lady Panther defense kicked in and kept the Lady Warriors from scoring until the seventh.
The Lady Panthers added a run in the fourth inning off a hit down the third base line by Diamone Johnson.
In the seventh inning, LCHS started a rally when Precious Williams got on base and Charlotte Coursey brought her home. Coursey came home when Johnson hit one beyond the short stop’s reach and the Lady Panthers trailed by two.
But the Warriors got the next batter out at first and the pitcher struck out the next Lady Panther to hold on to the 5-3 win. The match was a non-region game.
The Lady Panthers will host West Laurens for their second region game Friday at 5 p.m.
