Lady Tide hit the diamond Tuesday
Softball

After putting in a lot of hard work in the heat of summer, the Long County High School softball team will finally get to hit the diamond for some real competition this week.

The Lady Tide will travel Tuesday to Glynn County to take on Brunswick High School in a scrimmage.

Last year, the Lady Tide finished 14-16 overall and 8-6 in region 2-AA. They lost to Berrien County in the first round of the playoffs.

Some of Long County’s key returning starters are Harley Dawson, Katie Estill, Caitlyn Wingate and Rylie Poppell.

Tuesday’s opponent, the Lady Pirates, are coming off a 10-12 season. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
