The Long County High School softball team on Saturday will travel to McCrae for two non-region games to kick off the regular season.
At 11:30 a.m., the Lady Tide play Crisp County, which had a 23-12 record last year, and at 1 p.m., they play Telfair County, which finished last season with an impressive 24-9 mark.
Tuesday in Glynn County, Long County faced Brunswick in a scrimmage; results were not available at press time.
Last year, the Lady Tide finished with a 14-16 overall record and an 8-6 mark in Region 2-AA. They also made the state playoffs before losing to Berrien County in the first round.
