The Long County High School softball team is back on the diamond again today and Saturday, as the Lady Tide travel to the Jeff Davis Recreation Department in Hazlehurst for a non-region tournament.
Today, the Lady Tide (6-6) face Treutlen County (8-5) at 4:30 p.m. and take on Wheeler County (2-11) at 6:15 p.m. Saturday. The Lady Tide will attempt to stop a three-game losing streak, during which they have been outscored 16-0.
The Lady Tide were scheduled to host St. Vincent’s Academy on Thursday in a big Region 2-AA showdown, but results from that game were not available at press time.
Results from the St. Vincent’s game and the Jeff Davis tournament will appear in Wednesday’s Courier.
Long County was slated to play McIntosh County on Tuesday in Ludowici. However, due to bad weather, that game has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10.
