Lady Tide, Tide have mixed result in Bryan Co.
Basketball through hoop

The Long County basketball teams played Bryan County’s in Pembroke on Dec. 20 in non-region action.
The Lady Tide won 44-40. In the girls contest, the leading scorers were Anazha Kincaid, who had 9 points, Malika Elix who added 14, and Ellexxus Wrighton, who led scorers with 17. Wrighton also had four blocked shots.

In the boys game, the Blue Tide fell to the Redskins 82-69. No statistics from that game was available.
Thursday, Long County’s teams were back in Bryan County, playing in the Richmond Hill Classic. The Ludowici teams opened the tournament against the host teams.

In the girls game, the Lady Tide led by three late, and appeared to be on their way to a win. But with only 10 seconds left in regulation, the Lady Wildcat’s Jazlyn Martin drew a foul and made both of her free-throws to send the game into overtime.
In OT, Long County struggled to find shots, eventually dropping the game 57-47.
In the boys game, the score went back and forth between the Blue Tide and the Wildcats, but when all was said and done Richmond Hill pulled out the win 55-48.

With the losses, the Lady Tide fell to 6-7 and the Blue Tide dropped to 8-6.
In the second day of the tournament, the Long County boys took an on old rival, Benedictine Military School. The Lady Tide’s Friday opponent wasn’t known as of the writing of this story. Results from these two games will be published in an upcoming newspaper.

Long County is now off until Jan. 6, when they play Appling County in Baxley in big region matchups for both schools. The girls game begins at 7, followed by the boys at 8:30.
