Lady Tigers down Calvary, cold shooting dooms BI boys

The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers posted an impressive win over Calvary, but a cold-shooting effort doomed the boys in a loss to the Cavs.

Bradwell’s girls, ranked eighth in the state among Class AAAAA teams, rolled to an impressive 68-46 win on Parris Parham’s impressive night. The senior forward scored 30 points and pulled down 19 rebounds. Ta’tyana Anderson added 18 points.

Jordyn Rogers had seven points to go with three rebounds, four assists and three steals. Destini McLemore had six points and Ja’Nya Bush had four points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists. 

Bre Jones led Calvary with 16 points and seven rebounds, and Zora Geiger had 11 points and six rebounds. Destini Gooddine chipped in 10 points.

The Tiger boys were just 2 of 14 from 3-point range and were blanked in the second quarter in a 62-44 loss.

Zi’on Thomas scored 12 points and Eli Hale added six points.

The Calvary Day boys are ranked fifth in the state among Class A-AAA private school teams. 

Both Bradwell teams are now 6-1 on the season.

Bradwell will host Beach on Saturday and host Swainsboro on Tuesday.
