Jasmine Scott won the Region 3-AAA discus championship. She competes for the state title May 3 in Albany
Liberty County High School’s girls track team finished fifth at the region meet.

Golf
Sophomore Cassie Standard missed being the region’s low medalist by one stroke at the Region 3-AAA golf match at Waynesboro Country Club.
Standard shot 97 on the 18-hole course, but South Effingham’s Brooke Capwell shot 96 to win.
Burke County won the match, shooting 204. Each team’s top two scores are combined for the final score.
Liberty County, represented by Standard, Maegan Rowe and Desiree Garcia, shot 212 to finish third. Thomson was second at 206.
LCHS coach Jerome Standard said he is proud of the team and said the Lady Panthers have a bright future.
The boys finished eighth, shooting 394. The top four scores are combined. Freshman Ben Floyd led the team with a 76.
